The David Tennant Treat 4 Today is about the 2003 play The Pillowman.

The Pillowman was written by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh.

David Tennant starred in the play as Katurian, a fiction writer, who is interrogated by the police about the gruesome content of his short stories, and their similarities to a number of child murders.

The play premiered on 13th November 2003 at the National Theatre in London and it was directed by John Crowley. The original production starred the following:

David Tennant as Katurian.
A writer of gruesome short stories, ofter involving children. His disturbed imagination was the result of having heard his brother being abused when they were younger. Consequently he killed his parents and looked after his brother.

Jim Broadbent as Tupolski.
The lead detective. Cold and uncaring, he seem himself as apart from the people he aims to save.

Nigel Lindsey as Ariel.
A brutal detective who was abused himself, having a vendetta against anyone who commits crimes against children.

Adam Godley as Michael.
Katurian's brother, he is 'slow to get things' but has secrets to reveal.
