David Tennant was a guest on The Graham Norton Show that evening on television but the show was recorded the previous evening (Thursday 17th May) at Television Centre in White City, London.
David appearance was to promote the movies Bad Samaritan and You, Me And Him (which was then showing in a few cinemas in the UK).
David also discussed Doctor Who and he said that the fan base "is quite scary at first. It's quite a small club. It does feel like once you've been The Doctor, you're always The Doctor. We do form a small support network. It's quite an unusual job and it's humbling to be to be at the centre of that. It has such a huge fan base all over the world that is quite scary at first."
David was joined on the sofa by Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Emilia Clarke and Phoebe Waller-Bridge and also by singer Gloria Estefan.
Although it wasn't shown on television, during the recording David recalled the Emmy Award he won for one hours work voicing Huyang on the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. David said "I loved doing it but about a year later I got the award in the post. I felt like I should have strived more and it didn't really feel like I earned it. It went against my Scottish Presbyterian work ethic just to get one in the post when you didn't even know you were up for it!"
The Graham Norton Show was also broadcast on BBC America on Friday 25th May.
