David Tennant Treat 4 Today for Wednesday 4th September 2019

The David Tennant Treat 4 Today is a long interview with David Tennant by the American publication Newsweek.

The interview is about Richard II playing at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM) Harvey Theater in New York.

David Tennant starred in Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon from Thursday 10th October 2013 until Saturday 16th November 2013 (40 performances) before the production transferred to The Barbican Centre in London from 9th December 2013 until Saturday 25th January 2014 (45 performances). David played 85 performances in total. The performance on 13th November was screened in various cinemas around the world and was released on DVD. David Tennant played the title role. The play was directed by Gregory Doran and the Stratford-upon-Avon Press Night was on Thursday 17th October 2013.

David Tennant reprised his role as Richard II for The Royal Shakespeare Company during January 2016. This was part of a collaboration between The RSC and The Barbican Centre in London to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. The event was called King And Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle Of Kings which was a 4-play season cycle of four productions in repertoire. The whole event ran between Saturday 7th November 2015 until Sunday 24th January 2016 but unfortunately there were only nine performances of Richard II.

In April 2015 it was announced that the King And Country cycle of plays (including David Tennant in Richard II) will transfer to the US. The performances were between Thursday 24th March and Sunday 1st May 2016.
