The interview was to promote David performing in William Shakespeare's play Richard II.
David Tennant starred in the role title for the Royal Shakespeare's Company's production of the play in Stratford-upon-Avon from Thursday 19th October until Saturday 16th November 2013 before it transferred to the Barbican Centre in London from Monday 9th December 2013 until Saturday 25th January 2014. The performance on 13th November 2013 was filmed and shown live in cinemas across the country and abroad.
David Tennant reprised his role as Richard II for the RSC Kings And Country Cycle at Barbican in January 2016 before transferring to the Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM) in NYC in March 2016.
