David's appearance was to promote his movie The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists in which he voiced the character of Charles Darwin.
In this clip, among other things, David heard who the new Doctor Who companion was rumoured to be, he discussed the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who and which was his favourite flavour of crisp.
